La Costa Youth Organization Spring 2006 Softball

Girls Division IA

     The LCYO Girls Division IA is designed for seven and eight year olds (born in 1997 & 1998).  The season will feature live pitching by the players and some pitching by the coaches, round robin batting, and free substitution. The girls will be rotating defensively so that everyone has a chance to learn both infield and outfield positions.  Pitching lessons will be available on a private-pay basis. Contact the league director for more information.  Our emphasis will be on teaching the girls the fundamentals of softball whether they are new to the sport or are “seasoned veterans.” 

Evaluation Day: Saturday, January 7th, 2006

     Our 2006 Spring Softball season begins Saturday, January 7th, at La Costa Heights Elementary School.  The girls will be assessed on their hitting, fielding, base running, and pitching (if applicable.)  This evaluation helps ensure evenly skilled teams that are equally competitive.  Times will be published in the December Newsletter.  Attendance on this date is mandatory for all players.  Please bring your glove; softball or soccer cleats are recommended. 

     There will be a full season of fun and excitement ending with a league tournament.  LCYO looks forward to helping your daughter learn and enjoy the great game of softball.  LCYO has become a nationally known softball organization.  Signup and “Join the Winning Team!”.
