LCYO 2006 Pony Rules
LCYO follows the Pony Baseball Rules and Regulations and the Official Baseball Rules with the exceptions noted below.
1. A complete game is 7 innings, with no new inning to start after two hours during the regular season.
2. The home team will keep the official scorebook. Umpires and managers should consult with the official scorebook for any questions regarding the lineup, number of outs and runs scored.
3. A slide or avoid contact rule is in effect at all times. Any violation of this rule by a base runner will result in the runner being called out, and possible ejection of the player at the discretion of the umpire.
4. No player shall sit on the bench during 2 consecutive defensive innings. No player shall sit twice before every player has sat out at least once. Players must play a minimum of 12 outs in a 7-inning game.
5. If a player is injured or leaves a game before completion, no out will be recorded for subsequent missed at bats. Players arriving late will be inserted at the end of the batting order. A minimum of 8 players is required to start and complete a game and less than 8 players will result in a forfeit. Player “loaning” is not allowed.
6. All players shall be in the batting order at all times. Players may wear metal cleats.
7. No Player may pitch more than 3 innings during the regular season. The innings pitched must be consecutive (once a pitcher is removed from that position, he may not return to the pitching position even if less than 3 innings were pitched).
8. No “Mercy Rule”. The game will continue even if one team is 10 or more runs ahead.
9. Catchers warming up pitchers must wear a mask.
10. The home team shall be responsible for field preparation and visitors for equipment storage.
